The global esports community has received positive news as ESL, one of the world’s leading tournament organisers, has officially announced an increase in the Club Reward amount for Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) China 2026.
Initially, a $250,000 Club Reward was allocated for IEM Cologne 2026, but ESL has now decided to shift this amount to IEM China, raising the event’s total Club Rewards to an impressive $950,000. This decision comes after IEM Cologne was confirmed as a Major event for the 2026 season, where prize money and event structure are governed directly by Valve, the developer of Counter-Strike 2.
Why the Change Was Made
As a Major tournament, IEM Cologne 2026 will feature a $1.25 million prize pool, but it will not include Club Rewards for participating organisations. To maintain balance across the competitive calendar, ESL redirected the Club Rewards to IEM China, increasing the event’s overall prize pool beyond its previous $1 million allocation.
Updated Prize and Club Reward Distribution
With the revised structure, teams competing at IEM China 2026 will benefit significantly:
Champions:
$125,000 in prize money + $235,000 in Club Rewards
Runners-up:
$50,000 in prize money + $160,000 in Club Rewards
Third Place:
$30,000 in prize money + $130,000 in Club Rewards
Overall, ESL will continue to offer a total of $3.8 million in Club Rewards across seven ESL-sanctioned events during the 2026 competitive season.
